Podcasts have become a useful format to convey information and present material. It's easy-to-create and easy-to-use format makes it appealing to many writers and listeners.
I created this audio/visual podcast to accompany my report on reducing dependence on foreign oil. I used MS PowerPoint and Adobe Captivate to produce it. This podcast presents users with an alternative means of reviewing the information instead of reading the full report.
Audio Podcast
I created this audio podcast (below) and script to discuss strategies for communicating effectively with employees. I conducted research to create a comprehensive guide that was posted on the CorpCommCollab (CCC) Wiki I worked on with other students in the Corporate Communications Course.

Using Captivate for Instructional Multimedia
I created this audio/visual learning presentation in Adobe Captivate to help users learn about a new document management system they were going to be upgraded to. I created the design of the module, and used Adobe Captivate and Snagit software to create this module, which was part of a learning series. The intent was to keep it to close to five minutes so that users could conveniently learn information in a short period of time.
Corporate Communications Wiki
The mission of the CorpCommCollab (CCC) Wiki is to provide students and technical communication professionals with an online basic academic framework for corporate communication. In the Corporate Communications course, I worked with the team responsible for advertising for the site. As a member of that team, I created the newsletter, titled CCC Communicator, using MS Publisher, which I converted to PDF format for posting. I also produced a print advertisement for use in posters and publications. Our team worked collaboratively on goals and tasks through scheduled online chats and e-mail communication. We worked collaboratively to achieve the goals and meet the deadlines for our team's tasks. I also contributed content for the site with my business case analysis about and podcast along with other students.
Quick Reference
Learning comes in many forms. Often a short, targeted instructional guide, or "quick reference," is all that is needed. The subject matter, amount of content, and needs of the client determine the format, but ultimately a quick reference guide should be clear, concise and useful. I have worked on many quick reference guides over the years in a variety of formats.
In addition to my recent experience and coursework in technical communication, I also have extensive experience as a trainer. Because of my training experience, I found this course assignment interesting. I was required to take this Learning Styles Questionnaire and then write a proposal to address users with my learning style. Specifically, I was asked to respond to the request to design a training manual, accompanying website and multimedia CD or DVD and select which products would fit the needs of this particular audience and explain my design ideas.
